Amazing Family, Amazing Home

I met Mrs H on a Facebook thread and we found out later that we go to the same church!  How cool is that!?!  We have some mutual friends, which helped us become friends fast (and the fact that she is the coolest extrovert I've met in a long time!)!  It's been a loooooonnngggg and fun, and loooonggg process but so rewarding!
Mrs H and her family are very cool.  They are quiet readers, enjoy calm relaxing time together and love their home to be a sanctuary from the busy lives we all lead!  Her 2 adult children live at home and each have their own special needs that require extra attention and devotion - a quiet space is SO important for this family, their sanity, and their cats!
After speaking with the family, learning who needs what and where, we got to work shopping together, placing new furniture in just the right spot, accessorizing, and also picking new lighting.  My absolute FAVE thing about Design is lighting - it can make or break a space!  Too bright - gah shield your eyes!  Too dim - argh I can see my book!  Just right - ahhhhhhh!  See what I mean!?!

The H Family already had the base work done - new paint, updated flooring, new tile.  This set the template for the style we were trying to achieve - BEFORE

Open floor plan - breakfast nook, living space, kitchen all connected = cohesion needed all over - BEFORE

Looking from the breakfast nook into the living room - that 'space' above the TV/Fireplace is both useless and attention drawing, something we had to keep in mind. - BEFORE

Giant furniture and tables had to be replaced! - BEFORE
These people are Foodies!  Kitchen cohesion is so important we worked to get organized! - BEFORE

See the lighting!?!?  SO COOL!! - AFTER

The curved sofa was perfect in here - it helped us move about the room smoothly - AFTER

Making a big space feel bigger with a mirror can be fun!  I liked this one because it helped draw your eye to the lighting, which we LOVE, and also to move your eye out of that 'cubbie' and into the room. - AFTER

'AFTER' - a view from the kitchen.  While we hadn't complete the kitchen totally, the living room was too amazing from this angle!

***My client decided to MOVE homes part way through this project!  Ha!  So we had to start over in a new home with the existing furniture!  It was crazy!  But oh so fun!  Stayed tuned to after pictures in the new place!!

A place to rest your mind.... a 'spa haven'

For this adventure, my client wanted a 'spa-like' lobby and waiting area for her therapy clients.... and who wouldn't want that?!?  You're going to counseling, not always a comfortable place.  I love the colors we decided on and also the seating arrangement.  Her existing furniture was just what we needed (yay for budget friendly!) - a few accessories, some paint, a little love and her place was SO beautiful!  Thanks, Dawn for the fun and perfect space to turn into a total 'zen' experience!

Before - used this furniture but in different 'order'

Another BEFORE

Using the color of these cubes, we could carry a blue-toned theme all over

LOVE these cute 'in session' signs

Coffee/Water area, plus some seating arrangements - AFTER

Greenery helps soften the hard lines of the furniture - AFTER

Room #1 - Used an Olive Green tone in here with pops of colors - AFTER

The wall color in this room is hard to tell in pictures but it was SO COOL!  Loved it!

Carried the blue, spa-like from the lobby into Room #2 - gorgeous

Tables put in 'the right place' serve such important purpose
